The Englishman joined the club in the summer but has endured a nightmare spell at the club. After a horror debut against Raith Rovers, Sharp, who had initially been brought in as club captain, lost his place in the team.
However, he worked hard on his fitness and was definitely improving in form before suffering knee ligament damage in October.
Sharp had been ruled out until at least April and it would not be surprising had Airdrie terminated his contract to allow him to return to England.
